How Failure Forged the Future

Hi, I’m Matt.

I've always been curious, obsessed with understanding the world around me and seeking new ways to optimize my environment.

When I started my career after graduating from Fordham University, I landed a job as an Investment Banker on Wall Street.

As fascinating as the world of high finance was, it didn't quench my thirst for knowledge and the need to challenge myself.

In 2012, I embarked on a project that, at the time, I thought would be my greatest achievement:

I launched a hedge fund.

But this wasn't just any fund… I was determined to leverage technology like machine learning to automate the investment selection process.

I dug deeper than I ever had before.

Gave it everything.

And it wasn’t enough.

Failure was a tough blow to my ego and my career. During the process of trying to save Throne, I found a new passion - I taught myself Python the programming language and was fascinated by the future of automation and AI.

This setback didn't deter me; rather, it stoked a fire in me.

I became obsessed with mastery, the idea that we can continually grow and improve in our chosen fields.

I'll be honest - it started with “next time, I'll be so good we won't fail again”.

But soon I realized mastery isn't a final state, it's a mountain we climb.

So I started to climb in a more methodical way using Python scripts, machine learning and automation.

With the new skills I had acquired and my obsession with mastery, I began directly investing in companies through the McDonagh Family Office. It was here that I saw an opportunity to combine my new-found passion with my old-world expertise.

I used AI and automation to upgrade the revenue operations systems of these companies. This approach led to improved efficiency and profits. We built high-efficiency revenue engines. It was a thrilling experience to see the tangible results of these new methods and tools.

We even sold a security company to Facebook!

As I delved deeper into this journey, I began to see a bigger picture - mastery wasn't just about improving myself; it was about using the tools of today to create the future we all want.

I realized that technology was the key, not just for personal growth, but for societal advancement as well.

This realization ignited a burning ambition within me.

For as long as I could remember I needed to “win” and be recognized for achievement.. but suddenly I had a mission that was bigger than my ego.

I decided to dedicate my life to empowering others to achieve mastery through the use of technology. My vision is not just about gaining success or wealth; it's about helping each of us reach our full potential.

Everyone has a different path. Your route up the mountain will be different than mine.

But the tools I'm using can be applied universally - as long as you have an internet connection.

Together lets reshape our daily lives and use the tools of the present to create the future we want.

Every day, I wake up excited to continue this journey.

I've failed… I've succeeded, but through it all, I've learned that mastery is a journey, not a destination.

This journey is one that I am honored to share with everyone willing to harness the power of technology for their growth and mastery.
