Hope is not a strategy. Serendipity is not a business plan. If your success depends on a “Eureka” moment, you are already dead.

Look at the history of human progress. For three thousand years, we played a game of chance. We relied on the Lone Genius. We relied on the accident. We relied on the stumbling drunkard finding the light switch in the dark.

This is the “Old Science.” It smells. It smells of dusty journals. It smells like Linearity… and a little bit like luck.

Linearity is a trap. Input A leads to Output B. Maybe. If the variable is wrong, you start over. If the sample is contaminated, you lose a year. If the funding dries up, the chain snaps.

It was gentlemanly. It was predictable. And it was pathetically slow.

We were digging the Panama Canal with spoons.

But there is a new signal on the radar. Walk into the server farm of a modern national lab. Walk into the stealth-mode bunkers in Palo Alto.

The smell is gone. There is only the sterile, recycled air of the climate control systems…
